CRUNCHIE  BAR !!!

Once upon a chocolate there were 4 boys named Charlie, Jimmy, Lachlan and Noah, they were all incredible clay bird shooters (but Noah was the best). One day they came back from practice in their Ice White Lamborghini Aventador Veneno. They pulled up at a 15 star restaurant.SKIRRRRRRRTTT! Noah steps out in his Gucci flip flops to see the greatest sighting of his life! Wedged in the door was an unopened crunchie bar (Well that’s what they thought)!

Now the kids were not allowed chocolate because it was bad for their teeth and their parents didn’t want them too, but you can’t leave kids by themselves driving Lamborghinis and eating chocolate and I’m pretty sure all parents know that! Especially leaving your kids to drive a $7.4 Million Dollar car! So Noah and Lachlan Admired the masterpiece (The other two weren’t interested) they sniffed it to see if it was real, and slowly tear the wrapper like a sloth grabbing it’s food. Suddenly Noah and Lachlan get stopped. They sense something is different with this chocolate bar, they turn it over biting their fingers off because of the nervous feeling in their stomachs, and see that the packet was open!

Lachlans eyes light up as big as a saucer while the river of his drool goes as dry as the grand canyon, “AAAAAAHHHHHH!” Lachlan yelps as he sees the Mold infecting the chocolate “It looks like a… aaaaaaa… a SWAMP!!!!”

Noah screams to the top of his lungs, so high that People in Australia could hear it. Noah throws the bar as far as he could and it ends up landing in Mongolia! He jumps in his Lamborghini and accelerates as fast as he can go and in 5 seconds he was already going 157 Kilometers per hour!

And that’s the time I found a… Moldy Crunchie BaR!

P.S This is a true story, maybe not the Lamborghini and the gucci flip flops and the 15 star restaurant.

F.Y.I Charlie bit it and it was his bar that he was supposed to eat 2 MONTHS AGO.

Cuddles the monster AKA Mr Obliterator is definitely NOT a nice thing. With all of his attributes and appearance, you might want to buy another layer of skin. Cuddles is an absolute beast and his friends are only reptiles (and me of course!) You better run because Tang and Spitty (His two best friends which are snakes) know where you are from 4 Miles away (6.4 Kilometers). Cuddles does NOT like cuddles.

My Name Art!

On Monday (24th of July) I made my name on this graffiti website. I played around with the styles/fonts and finished off using the style Kodiak. I enjoyed designing my name because I got to put it up on display/my tote tray. I was definitely absorbed in it and I'm sure everyone else was. For this subject I used my managing distractions muscle,my absorption muscle and my perseverance muscle really well.

Last Thursday (8th of June) I and some other kids went to something called Maori Hand Games, the part I enjoyed was that when they demonstrated it, it was quite funny. To decide who won one of the tutors would hover above either April or Tu's head. And of course the girls went for April and of course they won,because when I cheered for Tu it felt like I was screaming my lungs out.We learned 3 Hand games which were Paki, Hei tama tu tama and e hipitoitoi. What I found challenging was understanding what to say in Te Reo like e hipitoitoi and others.I loved the Maori Hand Games and I would like to thank the Kahurangi Dance group for coming.

On Monday (May 1st) Everyone did a Interdependence Task in the morning, We all got put into star wars 'spaceships' and had to make a piece of art and a rap about the holidays. There were 12 people in each group, and you had to rap about what they did and you COULDN'T miss one, it went the same for the art. So we split into two groups with six people in each one. I was in the Millennium Falcons and others were in X-Wings, Snowspeeders, At At's and more. Overall Millennium Falcons came 2nd (I'm pretty sure) and the X-Wings finished off in 1st place. Covered with relaxing warm sand makes you feel extraordinary on your legs.Quiet,hot and an amazing holiday.Is this a dream come true?Bashing and diving through the waves are the locals having a blast.How can it be half a world away.Many trees hover above your head and stand tall with sprinkles of water sliding down the soft leaves.The sensational sight of the top of the Mokotahi Hill makes you rub your eyes thinking you are in a dream.What a wonderful place to happily stroll down.The houses are empty, everyone’s swimming.This is surely a Special Place.

Writing Term 4 'How Maui Found The Secret of Fire

One Relaxing Evening  Gazing into my flaming fire I wondered to myself “What would happen if all Fires went out,How would we make any more flames,How does fire become… Fire!” Everyone always lit our fire from other flames.(A lightbulb appeared above my head)

So Me myself the Maori trickster snuck out of my Whare one dark moonless Friday night and put out all the fires in the Pa, of course with a bucket of water.The Next Day…

Everyone was furious with me “You Tutai! You Dumbo! You big Mischief!Now you’re going to have to get another flame from the Volcano”. I had no other choice but to set off with No One except my friends ‘The Birds’ Pukeko, Piwakawaka, Kiwi, Tui, And Rupe, I told them we were going on an Adventure…

We were moving like a tank through the forest bowling every scruffy soaked bush down with my strong brown patu.Suddenly there was a Blaaaaaa!!! “What on earth is that” I questioned the birds “I don’t know” Replied the Piwakawaka and yes that’s right birds can talk!We peeked around the corner of a flax bush with our heads piling up and saw a trail that leads into a really clear beautiful beach. Walking out into the open beach (With no suspicion about the noise) we glanced with a gasp “WOW” Commented all of us at the same time BUT as we stumbled into the smooth warm sand in the corner of my eye I saw a Man-Eating Predator beating big scary WARRIOR! “BLAAAAA!” He pukanad Extremely loud! And threw a sharp thin tall taiaha at me.Whistle!Was the sound as it battled the wind and came zooming at my leg “GAME OVER,Your dead Maui” Said the Tui but luckily I used my James Bond skills (and so did the birds) and dived out of the trail into the bushes while the fearsome weapon came springing at us.While diving/dodging the taiaha, I threw my patu at The Warriors Head and BOOM! That was the noise of me giving him a bash. “What do we do” said the Piwakawaka “Ummmmm RUN!” Screamed the Pukeko as all of us dashed out of our current location…

Finally We made it outside of the Lava Spitting Volcano “Stay here my friends I shall go alone” I commanded to the Birds “Yo” Said the kiwi as it prepared to sunbathed.I strolled in and went to ask for a flame.

Scrambling into the burning volcano I saw an old lady with long grey hair and the most wrinkles ever! And she was STEAMING HOT if you touched her it will feel like you are holding 1,000,000 Burning Suns,but the weird thing is…  I think she was my aunty!“May I please have a Flame for my Pa” I asked Politely to Mahuika the goddess of fire “Sure Maui But take GOOD care of these flames, they are really precious and remember I only have 10” She answered “I will take care and I know there’s only 10” I replied.

As I was sprinting out of the horrific Volcano I tripped up on a root out of a TREE but luckily I still took good care of the flame, I stood back up and told the birds “I have a special flame,But I’m still curious of how does fire become… fire!” So I dropped the flame in the stream nearby and went back in and kept on doing the same thing every time, except with different excuse of course. “I stubbed my toe, a eel Snatched it off me, I thought it was cool so I chucked it in the air and it landed on my foot OUCH!, It was windy, it was raining, I ran into a tree, I had an itch on my face then I accidentally blew it out,I was making fun of a taniwha and he gave me a hiding, I put it down on the grass so I could play some rugby”. And Every single one worked.She was onto her LAST FLAME.

Mahuika was crazy!!! She got bigger bigger bigger and even Bigger,She was Honestly MASSIVE, It was like she was a 8 metre Helium Balloon! “This is what happens when you put out all my flames” She yelped with anger as she began floating into the air suddenly there was a grenade-sounding beeping noise and the Tyrannosaurus Rex-sized Volcano began shaking like there was a hurricane, or earthquake, Maybe even COMBINED! “Get the branches from the tree outside!!!Quick!” Mahuika screamed with rush “Ok” I replied as I dashed out of the mighty heat flowing lair.

I sprung up the tree like I was Bionic??????And R.K.Oed a lot of little branches and Victory dived into the stream of course while the Rumbling lava-leaking Volcano Exploded with a KABOOM!!! SSSSSSSSSS!!! Was the noise of the lava as it faced into the soaked grass.”Let’s GO!” I yelped to the birds so I Morphed into a Hawk and Flew Back to the Pa.

“HOORAY!!!” Yelled Everyone at the Pa So I morphed back to myself and rubbed the tree’s little branches on a hard piece of wood at east of the little Pa and it LIT!!! YAY!! “Skux fulla Maui,My man! You are a hero” Celebrated all the civilization at the Pa. Suddenly… The whole Pa Caught fire!!! “Uh Oh I think I might have to do a Victory Dive again!” “AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!”.

Meanwhile back at the Volcano… “This is awesome aye bro” said the kiwi as he turned over and saw a massive flame “Maui” said the Kiwi as he took off his shades and cucumbers ”AHHHHHH!!” He screamed as he jumped out of his all black shirt and flew back to the Burning Pa “Maui! DID YOU FIND THE SECRET OF FIRE???”

What was tricky was probably staying on the story because usually I would carry on in my way but this time I had to stick to the story

The learning muscles I used was Collaboration by talking and agreeing and disagreeing. and resourcefulness for the props like the for the microphones we had to use diffrent things like paint brushes and glue sticks. And managing distraction .

I also used probably the managing distractions because heaps of people constantly said “Noah come over here And look at this”  so I didn't go

Parkvale’s Big SURPRISE!

Breaking News! Olympic Ambassador Paora Winitana has entered Parkvale School Hall! Paora Introduced Himself and talked about his career. Paora had some laughs and some serious Times But most times were AWESOME!!!

Quick Facts About Paora

Favourite Food: Pasta and Salad.

Favourite Movie: Braveheart.

Favourite Music: Slow Jams.

Childhood heroes: His Mum and Michael Jordan.

Current Favourite Athletes: Kobe Bryant, Lebron James & Usain Bolt.

Most Rewarding Moment in Sport: Getting into the 2004 Olympic Team.

Talents other than sport:He loves being a husband and father. He enjoys graphic design and art.

Biggest Injury:Bone bruising to his cuboid bone (16 Months).

Biggest Sacrifice:Time away from his wife and sons.

Job outside Sport:Co-Director of his own Basketball Academy, He also provide leadership workshops for schools.

More Facts:He likes salsa dancing,art, reading a great book and wrestling with his sons.

Paora came in at the date of 30/7/16 with his basketball.Paora has 4 sons and 1 Wife. Me myself Noah Rogers knows Paora Personally by 2 of his sons Mana and Neafi and infact he coaches my basketball team. But anyway back to the news, Paora came and gave a few people with their hands up a CHALLENGE which I will talk about right now.

CHALLENGE

First up was Navjot and he had to throw up the basketball in the air and clap 5 times BUT he only got 1 bounce the first 2 attempts failed but hey! Never Give up (John Cena) the 1st Attempt it landed on his noggin!!! But did Navjot give up??? Hell NAAA! But in the 3rd try he did it!

Next was Keisha and she had to dribble the width of the hall and she did it like it was easy peasy lemon dolphin dive easy. BUT (you were probably expecting that) Paora gave her a harder challenge, It was to go to the width of the hall and dribble it BEHIND HER BACK then go back. And again she failed the 1st 2nd 3rd and 4th time but did she give up??? NAAAA! She tried the 5th time and she DID IT (With the help of confidence)!!!

Paora told Parkvale School about the five Olympic Values and what to do if you get shut down/sad. The five values were Respect, Balance your life out, Pursuit of excellence, Friendship and 1 more.Oh I forgot to tell you I WAS THERE! And while I was watching Keisha Paora pointed into the crowd and said “Ummm who’s that? Noah! My man!” and everyone looked at me! Anyway Paora brought all 3 Basketball singlets Hawks Number 8, Breakers number 8, and Tall Blacks number 9.After the fun Paora had to leave so Parkvale all waved goodbye.

But WAIT! Paora wanted a SELFIE! Parkvale were so relieved and they took a mighty fine selfie indeed.
